Websites That Are Fast, Findable, and Easy to Manage

We build static-first marketing websites on Astro with a headless CMS. They are fast, accessible, structured for search and answer engines, and editable by your own team. This site is one example: dynamic only where necessary, with SEO, structured data and Core Web Vitals engineered into the build.

What you get

Built the Way This Site Is Built

We build marketing websites as static-first Astro sites with a headless CMS behind them: pages render to plain HTML at build time, load in well under a second, carry structured data and sitemaps automatically, and let editors change content without touching code. The site you're reading is built exactly this way: a design system on Tailwind CSS, Astro, no client-side frameworks, one 5 KB script for navigation.

That is a different job from a web application. If your visitors need accounts, data and workflows, you need Web Application Development. If you need to explain what you do, be found for it and convert visitors into enquiries, this is the page.

Capabilities

What a Website Build Includes

  • Design system

Tokens, components and patterns your brand can keep using, not a one-off theme.

  • Astro build

Static HTML by default, islands only where interaction genuinely needs them.

  • Headless CMS

PayloadCMS (or the CMS you already run) so marketing edits pages, posts and case studies themselves.

  • SEO and AEO

Titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, sitemaps, Organization/Article/FAQ structured data, answer-first content structure.

  • Performance

Core Web Vitals budgets, image pipelines, font strategy, one eager image per page.

  • Accessibility

WCAG 2.2 AA: semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, measured contrast, reduced-motion support.

  • Forms and lead capture

Intent-specific forms into your CRM or inbox, spam protection, analytics events.

  • Migration

Content and URL migration from WordPress, Webflow or a previous build, with redirects.

Technical expertise

The Website Stack: Deliberately Simple

Different from our application stack on purpose: fewer moving parts, faster pages, cheaper to run.

Astro
Renders to static HTML. Ships zero JavaScript unless a component needs it. The fastest baseline a marketing site can have.
PayloadCMS
A TypeScript headless CMS your editors work in, with content served to Astro at build time, or the CMS you already have.
Tailwind CSS + design tokens
A token-driven design system. One source of truth for colour, type and spacing that survives redesigns.
Content collections
Case studies, articles and services as structured, typed content: feeding pages, schema and sitemaps from one place.
Core Web Vitals
LCP, INP and CLS budgets set and measured, images optimised and dimensioned, fonts preloaded.
Structured data
Organization, BreadcrumbList, Service, Article and FAQPage schema generated from the content, never hand-typed.
Hosting
Static output deploys to any CDN (Cloudflare, Netlify, Vercel, S3) for pennies and with no server to patch.
Analytics
Event tracking that reflects buyer intent (CTA, form, phone, email), not vanity metrics.

How we build

From Brief to Launch: Without the Agency Theatre

  1. Brief and content plan

Who the site is for, what it must rank for, what it must convert to, and the pages that follow from that.

  2. Design system

Tokens and components first. Page designs assemble from them, so every later page is consistent and fast to add.

  3. Build

Astro pages on typed content, CMS wired for editors, SEO and schema generated, forms connected.

  4. Content migration

Existing pages and URLs mapped and redirected. No rankings lost on launch.

  5. Launch

Static deploy to a CDN with Core Web Vitals verified, sitemaps submitted, analytics live.

  6. Grow

New pages and articles from the CMS, performance and search monitored, the design system reused.

Ask a question

What's the difference between this and a web application?

A website explains, persuades and gets found. It's pages and content for people who haven't logged in. A web application does work for people who have: accounts, data, workflows, permissions. If you need customer accounts or business logic, you're on the wrong page, and the right one is linked below.

Web application development

Will we be able to update content ourselves after launch?

Yes. Pages, articles, case studies and team profiles live in a headless CMS your team edits directly. The site rebuilds automatically. Only structural or design changes need a developer.

Do you handle SEO as part of the build, or is that separate?

As part of the build: technical SEO (canonicals, sitemaps, redirects, performance), structured data generated from content, and page structure written for search and answer engines. Ongoing content strategy is a separate engagement if you want it.

Why Astro rather than WordPress or Webflow?

Speed, security and cost: static HTML with no server to patch, deployable anywhere, and no plugin sprawl. WordPress remains right for content-heavy sites with large editorial teams. We build headless WordPress too.

Headless WooCommerce

Can the site share a design system with our web app or store?

Yes. A token-based design system is built to be reused across the marketing site, the storefront and the application.

How fast will it be?

Static Astro pages with optimised images and fonts typically score in the green on all Core Web Vitals on mobile. We set budgets before the build and verify them at launch: this site is measured the same way.
