What Heliconia Provides for Finance Teams and Financial Platforms

Heliconia implements Odoo Accounting and the financial workflows around it (invoicing, receivables and payables, expenses, payments, multi-company and multi-currency structures, approvals and management reporting) connected to the sales, purchasing, inventory, subscription and payroll data that generates the numbers. For fintech products, we engineer the platform itself: payment workflows, wallets, commissions and reporting on Odoo with Flutter and Next.js front ends.

Finance teams inherit data from everywhere: orders, purchases, stock movements, subscriptions, payroll, gateways and banks. When those live in separate systems, closing the month is reconciliation by hand. When they live in Odoo, the ledger is a consequence of operations (every invoice, payment and stock valuation posts itself) and the finance team’s work becomes control and insight rather than data entry.

Finance challenges

Where Financial Operations Break

  • Fragmented financial data

Sales, purchasing, inventory, payroll and external platforms each holding part of the truth.

  • Manual reconciliation

Bank statements, gateway settlements and invoices matched by hand, every month.

  • Multi-entity operations

Several companies, currencies, tax regimes and fiscal rules that must consolidate, and stay separately compliant.

  • Reporting

Management wants margins by product, customer, island or agent, not just a trial balance.

  • Approval workflows

Purchase, expense and payment approvals that are enforced by the system, not by email.

  • Integration

Banks, payment gateways, remittance partners, payroll and tax systems connected reliably.

The finance workflow

Operations In, Decisions Out

Every operational flow ends in accounting. The finance workflow is what happens after it lands.

Implementation approach

How a Finance Implementation Runs

  1. Finance discovery

Entities, currencies, tax regimes, chart of accounts, approval rules, reporting needs, the systems feeding the ledger.

  2. Design

Company structure in Odoo, fiscal localisations, journals, analytic structure, what's custom, what integrates.

  3. Configuration and build

Accounting configured. Custom reports, approvals and integrations developed and tested with real transactions.

  4. Opening balances and history

Balances, open items and history migrated and reconciled with the outgoing system.

  5. Parallel run and go-live

A period run in both systems where the risk justifies it. Then cut-over at a period boundary.

  6. Close support

First month-end and year-end closes supported. Reports refined with the finance team.

Ask a question

Can Odoo handle accounting?

Yes. Odoo Accounting is a full double-entry system with invoicing, bills, payments, bank reconciliation, taxes, fiscal localisations, assets, budgets and financial reports. D.S. Associates, a chartered accountancy firm, runs its financial operations on it. Opsio runs accounting, payroll, subscriptions and financial reporting on Odoo 18 Enterprise.

Can Odoo integrate with financial systems?

Yes. We have connected payment gateways, POS terminals, remittance and banking services, payroll and reporting tools to Odoo accounting. Each connector is confirmed before we commit: we don't claim a bank or gateway we haven't connected.

Odoo integration services

Can Odoo support multiple companies and currencies?

Yes. Jo Ann’s runs four Caribbean island entities (each with its own payroll law, currency and fiscal rules) on one Odoo 16 Enterprise platform with a shared core and per-island customisation packages.

Jo Ann's case study

Can financial workflows be customized?

Yes. Approval chains, commission and collection reports, payment history, wallet and payout workflows, invoice layouts and country-specific rules are the kinds of finance customisation we build. PayRemit’s remittance operations run on custom Odoo modules.

Odoo customization

Do you build fintech products, not just accounting systems?

Yes. PayRemit is a live remittance platform where our Odoo, Flutter and Next.js team ships payment, agent, employer and reporting features. Tubo Ventaja is a workforce-payment platform where our Next.js engineers built payroll, timekeeping and e-wallet interfaces.
