What Heliconia Provides for Logistics Businesses

Heliconia implements Odoo for the order, warehouse, inventory and billing core of a logistics or transportation business, and builds the operational layer around it (dispatch dashboards, driver and customer apps, carrier and tracking integrations, proof of delivery and notifications) as custom software on the Odoo backend. Our production evidence is in multi-site inventory, warehouse operations and shipping integration. Fleet dispatch and proof-of-delivery apps are capabilities we build to order, not products we resell.

Logistics runs on visibility: where an order is, where the stock is, which vehicle is carrying it, whether it arrived and who signed. Odoo holds the order, the stock movement and the invoice well. What it doesn't do out of the box (route-level dispatch, driver workflows, live tracking, POD capture) is exactly the kind of connected application we build on top of it.

Logistics challenges

What a Logistics System Has to See

  • Order management

Customer orders from portal, email or integration into one queue with status.

  • Fleet coordination

Vehicles, drivers, capacity and availability alongside the work to be done.

  • Dispatch

Assigning orders to routes and drivers with the constraints that matter to you.

  • Warehouse operations

Receipts, putaway, picking, packing and barcode validation.

  • Delivery tracking

Status and location visible to operations and to the customer.

  • Proof of delivery

Signature, photo, time and location captured on the driver’s phone and stored on the order.

  • Customer communication

Notifications by email, SMS, WhatsApp or push at the moments customers care about.

  • Billing

Invoices from completed deliveries: per shipment, per period, per contract.

How we approach logistics projects

What We Build Around Odoo for Logistics

Capabilities, stated as capabilities: each is built to your operation on the Odoo backend, using patterns we run in production elsewhere.

  • Customer portal

Order placement, shipment status and documents, on Odoo’s portal or a Next.js portal, as at LittleQ and Wild Cloud.

  • Dispatch dashboard

A planning screen over orders, vehicles and drivers, built as a custom Odoo view or web app.

  • Delivery tracking

Status and location from the driver app or a GPS/telematics API, shown to operations and customers.

  • Proof of delivery

Signature, photo, time and geolocation stored on the delivery record.

  • Fleet integration

Odoo Fleet for vehicles, drivers, costs and maintenance. Telematics connected where available.

  • Notification system

Email, SMS, WhatsApp and push at pickup, out-for-delivery, delivered and exception events.

Implementation approach

How We Would Run a Logistics Project

  1. Operations discovery

Order sources, warehouse layout, fleet, dispatch rules, customer touchpoints, billing models: observed, not assumed.

  2. Core on Odoo

Orders, inventory, warehouse, fleet and accounting configured and extended.

  3. Operational layer

Dispatch dashboard, driver app, tracking and POD designed with dispatchers and drivers, built on the Odoo API.

  4. Integrations

Carriers, telematics, notifications and customer systems connected.

  5. Pilot

One depot or route group live with the old process as fallback. Adjust before rollout.

  6. Rollout and support

Remaining sites and fleets onboarded. Monitoring and continuous improvement.

Ask a question

Can Odoo run a logistics or transportation business?

Odoo runs the order, inventory, warehouse, fleet and billing core well. Dispatch, driver workflows, live tracking and proof of delivery are built as custom applications and integrations on top of it: that combination is what we deliver.

Have you built dispatch or driver apps before?

We have built customer, member and supplier mobile apps on Odoo backends and shipping-provider integrations. We haven't yet shipped a dedicated fleet-dispatch product. This page describes what we build to order, on patterns we run in production, and we'll say the same in a proposal.

Mobile application development

Can Odoo integrate with shipping providers and GPS systems?

Yes. Carrier APIs (Shiprocket at LittleQ) and any tracking or telematics service with an API can be connected to Odoo deliveries. The data then drives status, notifications and customer visibility.

Odoo integration services

Can customers track deliveries themselves?

Yes, through a customer portal or notifications: status from the warehouse and driver app surfaced to the customer by email, SMS, WhatsApp or push.

How is billing handled?

Invoices are generated in Odoo from completed deliveries, per shipment, per period or per contract, and reconciled against payments in Accounting.
