Hire Next.js Developers Who Can Join a Real Engineering Team

Not a CV forwarding service. Our engineers work inside your repository, your sprint cadence and your review process, on products that are already live, and they have done exactly that for a workforce-payments platform through an App Router migration.

The short answer

What Can a Heliconia Next.js Developer Own?

A feature area end to end: the routes, the data fetching, the API contract behind it and the tests, reviewed by your team in your repository. Senior engineers can own an App Router migration, an authentication rebuild or the integration layer between your front end and a business system. They work in your sprint and your process rather than running a parallel project.

The engagement that makes this credible is Tubo Ventaja: our Next.js developers and a frontend technical lead joined an existing workforce-payments product, migrated it to the App Router, rebuilt authentication and shipped HRIS, timekeeper, e-wallet and face-recognition interfaces across normal sprint releases.

That's the test of an embedded engineer. Not whether they can start a project, but whether they can work inside one that already has users, history and someone else's conventions.

What you get

What Each Level Can Own, and What Is Not Included

Stated as ownership rather than years. The "not included" column is the one worth reading.

The last three rows are deliberate. We have designers and Odoo engineers, but they are different people on a different engagement. A Next.js developer billed as a designer helps nobody.

Named evidence

What Our Next.js Engineers Have Actually Shipped

Three production systems, with the work named rather than summarised as "various projects".

  • Tubo Ventaja: embedded in the product team

App Router migration, authentication rebuild, HRIS, timekeeper, e-wallet and face-recognition interfaces, plus Google Maps location features, delivered over 6+ months of sprint releases inside the client’s team.

    • Embedded
    • Migration
    • Sprint cadence
  • Freiburger Bund: a four-language portal

Next.js 15 with Payload CMS 3 over Odoo 18 Enterprise: community, news, jobs and learning sections in German, English, French and Arabic, with real-time messaging and full-text search.

    • Next.js 15
    • Payload CMS
    • i18n and RTL
  • PayRemit: a live financial platform

Next.js alongside Odoo and Flutter on a remittance product where features ship continuously without interrupting live transactions.

How it works

How an Engineer Joins Your Team

  1. Requirements call

Your stack, the codebase, what the person would own in the first month, the time-zone overlap you need and the start window. Thirty minutes, with an engineer on the call.

  2. Matching, not a CV dump

We propose one or two people whose recent work is close to your problem, with the projects they worked on and what they did. If nobody fits, we say so rather than sending whoever is free.

  3. You interview them

Your process, your questions, your technical exercise if you have one. We do not ask clients to hire from a profile, and we will support your interview format rather than replace it.

  4. Onboarding into your process

Your repository, your branch and review conventions, your ticket tracker, your standups. We adapt to them rather than importing ours.

  5. First-month checkpoint

A review with you: is the person productive, is the scope right, is the overlap working. Easier to fix in week four than in month six.

  6. Ongoing delivery

They ship in your sprint, attend your ceremonies and are reviewed by your team. A Heliconia technical lead stays available behind them for architecture questions at no extra cost.

The terms

Engagement, Security and the Things Buyers Ask Last

The questions that decide these engagements, answered before you have to ask them.

Engagement, Security and the Things Buyers Ask Last
QuestionHow we work
Engagement modelFull-time or part-time monthly, per engineer, with a notice period agreed up front
Time-zone overlapWe commit to a stated daily overlap with your team and staff for it, rather than promising availability at any hour
Whose processYours. Your repository, review rules, tracker and ceremonies
Code and IPEverything written for you is yours, in your repository, from the first commit
SecurityAccess through your systems and your accounts, under your policies. We ask for the least access that lets the person work
ReplacementIf someone is not working out, we replace them, with a documented handover rather than a silent swap
Knowledge transferDocumentation as they go, so the work survives the engagement. That is a condition of the engagement, not a closing task
Scaling up or downMonth by month with notice. Adding a second engineer does not restart the process

If any of these need to look different for your organisation, say so on the first call. They are terms, not policy.

Interview guide

What to Ask a Next.js Candidate (Ours or Anyone Else’s)

  • Ask them to explain when they would use a server component and when a client component, and what they lose by choosing wrong. Vague answers here predict slow pages later.
  • Ask how they would migrate a pages-directory application to the App Router incrementally. If the answer is "rewrite it", that is a real signal.
  • Ask where they put data fetching and why, and what they do about caching and revalidation.
  • Give them a slow page from your own product and ask what they would measure first.
  • Ask about authentication: sessions, tokens, and what changes when rendering happens on the server.
  • Ask what they would refuse to put in the front end, and why. Good engineers have an answer about business logic.
  • Use your own exercise if you have one. We would rather you test them than trust our description.

Questions

Hiring Questions, Answered Directly

Atul Makwana

CEO & Co-Founder, Heliconia Solutions

Not answered here? Ask Atul directly, the person who reviewed this page, not a sales queue. Odoo 16 Functional Certification.

Ask a question

Can they work in our existing codebase rather than starting fresh?

Yes, and that is most of what we do. Tubo Ventaja’s product was already live when our engineers joined, and the first substantial piece of work was migrating it to the App Router while features kept shipping.

Read that engagement

What time-zone overlap can we expect?

We agree a daily overlap window with your team before the engagement starts and staff for it. Our engineers are in India, which gives a working overlap with Europe most of the day and with the US east coast in the morning your time. We will tell you plainly if your hours are hard to cover.

Do you publish rates on this page?

No. Rates depend on seniority, commitment and engagement length, and a number without those is noise. Tell us the role and the duration and you will get a rate on the first call, with no obligation.

How we price work

Is this different from hiring you for a project?

Yes, and the difference matters. A project means we own delivery: scope, timeline and result. Hiring engineers means you own delivery and we supply capacity into your process.

If you want the outcome rather than the people, the service page is the better starting point.

Next.js development services

Can the same engineer also work on our backend?

Within reason. A Next.js engineer will own API routes, server components and the contract with your backend. If you need substantial work inside Odoo, a Python service or a mobile app, that is a different specialist and we would propose the right person instead of stretching one.

All the roles we place

What happens if the person is not a good fit?

Tell us early. We replace them, with a documented handover so the work does not restart, and we treat a bad match as our mistake to fix. The first-month checkpoint exists precisely to surface this while it is cheap.

Next step

Tell Us the Team, the Stack and the Start Window

Send us what the person would own in their first month, the overlap you need and when you want them. You get one or two matched engineers with their real project history, and you run your own interview.
