The challenge

Jo Ann's runs multi-brand store chains across four islands, each a separate legal entity with its own labour law, fiscal regulation (including Curaçao's mandatory POS blackbox), currency and web presence. They needed one ERP for retail, wholesale, inventory, payroll and accounting without flattening those differences: plus POS commissions, partner credit limits, barcode tracking and warehouse-level security.

The solution

We implemented Odoo 16 Enterprise with a modular architecture: a shared core (joanns_common) for Sales, Purchase, POS, Stock, Accounting and HR, with island-specific overlays (custom_haiggo, custom_nassau, custom_waheguru, custom_satnam). On top: localized payroll engines for each jurisdiction, hardware and software Curaçao blackbox integration, an extended POS (user commissions, wholesale pricing, full-order returns, live stock display, terms signing and pay), multi-currency journal tools, direct receipt printing, and a website per island.

• Implemented Odoo 16 Enterprise across multi-region retail store branches and wholesale operations.
• Developed shared core modules (joanns_common) for Sales, Purchase, POS, Stock, Accounting, and HR.
• Configured island-specific customization packages (custom_haiggo, custom_nassau, custom_satnam, custom_waheguru).
• Customized Point of Sale (POS) with user sales commissions, wholesale pricing, refund workflows, and real-time product stock display.
• Integrated hardware and software fiscal blackbox modules (pos_blackbox_curacao, hw_blackbox_curacao) for Curacao tax compliance.
• Developed island-localized payroll engines tailored to regional labor laws for Aruba, Bahamas, Curacao, and St. Maarten.
• Built island-specific website and eCommerce portals (joanns_aruba_website, joanns_bahamas_website, joanns_curacao_website, joanns_satnam_website).
• Implemented partner credit limit management and customer credit checks.
• Configured warehouse access restrictions and location-based security rules.
